About Marsh's Edge

What distinguishes Marsh's Edge from
other retirement communities in the area?
Just a jump from shopping and fun in the heart of St. Simons, we are a welcome and attractive site for seniors looking to enjoy their independence. Our tranquil, wooded setting complements the advantages of our locale because it offers the best of both worlds – peace and quiet away from the hustle and bustle, but close enough to find great entertainment when you want it.
Marsh's Edge’s commitment to wellness and combining it with everyday life is another reason we stand out. We’ve committed the resources, research and staff to lead our area and our industry in total wellness. With our research partner, Wake Forest University and the J. Paul Sticht Center, we are finding better ways for people to live healthy and higher quality lives.
Our community’s goal is to help people live longer, healthier and happier lives independently in their own home. While we have healthcare options on site if our Members should ever need them, our real purpose is to help our Members stay independent for as long as possible. With our amenity offerings, our excellent menu selections, a packed social calendar plus the award-winning wellness program – we are quite good at accomplishing our goal.
What is a Continuing Care Retirement Community?
A continuing care retirement community (or CCRC as it is commonly called) is a community designed to give people a supportive network while they transition through their senior years. CCRCs contain all levels of retirement and long term care: independent living, assisted living, typically Alzheimer’s care and skilled nursing. The difference at Marsh's Edge is…we want people to live independently for the rest of their lives and never have to experience healthcare. To do so, we incorporate an exciting wellness program, provide exceptional food (with healthy options) and actively encourage our Members to take advantage of all our amenities which allow them to live life to the fullest. Like most CCRCs, we offer healthcare services as well – assisted living, Alzheimer’s care, skilled nursing and rehabilitation. Our community is staffed with caregivers and team members who live by the golden rule: “Treat others as you wish to be treated.” Independent cottages – independent villas – assisted living – Alzheimer’s care - skilled nursing – rehabilitation can all be found in our continuing care retirement community.
